Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) announces who will be delivering the commencement address for the college’s 40th annual commencement exercises.
History Professor Sam Pincus has been given the honor of delivering the commencement.
Pincus began teaching history at the college in 1979, and has served as faculty marshal in six of PVCC’s commencement ceremonies. He is also a recipient of the PVCC Distinguished Service Award.
“Sam gave a brilliant keynote address at a College event last year on what it means to be an educated individual,” said Frank Friedman, president of PVCC. “His graduation address promises to shine light on the opportunities and responsibilities facing the PVCC graduating class and on the dedication of the entire PVCC faculty and staff.”
The ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. at John Paul Jones Arena on May 10.
The event is open to the public.
