Hollymead Elementary Placed on Lockdown

January 9, 2014

Hollymead Elementary School was placed on lockdown Thursday morning, while parents dealt with an unruly parent. According to a letter sent out by school principal Nancy Teel, a parent made a request that school officials could not grant.

"When we led the parent out of the building the parent said they would remain on the grounds," Teel wrote. "At that point, as a precaution, we instituted a lockdown to prevent the parent from re-entering the building and we contacted the police,"

According to Albemarle County police, 48-year-old Carol Korsak was later arrested and charged with violating a protective custody order. She is being held at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail without bond.
