The Virginia Department of Transportation is scheduled to continue emergency work around Interstate 64 today.
The work is to remove an area of unstable soil from Afton Mountain. Last week's rain canceled a few days of work and put the project behind schedule.
Traffic will be restricted at certain points throughout the day in both directions of the interstate beginning at 9 a.m. from Exit 107 in Crozet to Exit 96 in Waynesboro. The work continues through Thursday.
VDOT suggests using Route 250 as an alternate.
