WASHINGTON (AP) - Airline passengers in the Washington area are experiencing increasing delays as the season's first winter storm continues.
The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority says many flights have been delayed at Dulles International and Ronald Reagan Washington National airports. Passengers are urged to check with their airlines before departing for the airports.
Crews are in place to treat and plow the runways at both airports if needed.
Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall airport spokesman Jonathan Dean says there was "moderate to heavy" snow Sunday afternoon, and flight delays and cancellations were expected into the evening hours.
