The new healthcare program starts October 1st, but many people still have questions about how the new system is going to work.
The Jefferson Area Board for Aging (JABA) is helping people get familiar with the new healthcare marketplaces.
The marketplace is for people age 26 to 65, who don't already have insurance through their employer. You will be able to compare plans based on what's right for you.
JABA employees say shopping for health care will be as simple as shopping online.
"People will be able to go on there and sort through their different insurance options just like they'd go online and shop at Amazon or buy a plane ticket," says VCAP Coordinator Judy Robinson.
Open enrollment goes until December 7th for people who want coverage to begin on January 1st. Those who want coverage to start in April have until March 31st to enroll.
