Charlottesville's own Jefferson Vineyards wins big at the 2014 San Francisco Wine and Spirits Competition.

The winery took home a double gold medal for its 2013 Viognier, beating out more than 4,500 entries.

The local winery snagged the highest medal in one of the country's largest and most respected wine competitions.

"It feels like we're really a part of something bigger,” says Amanda Charette, with Jefferson Vineyard. “We're helping push the entire industry, you know, each time any of us wins a great award. You know Trump won some great awards last year from this competition that helps us all do well."

A bottle of Jefferson Vineyard’s award-winning 2013 Viognier will set you back $30, and is currently on the tasting list at the vineyard.
