Judges Set Rules for Attorney General's Recount

Dec. 9, 2013

A three-judge recount court met Monday in the nearly deadlocked Virginia attorney general’s race.

The court established ground rules for the recount, in addition to hearing motions filed by Democrat Mark Herring and Republican Mark Obenshain.

Obenshain trails in the race by 165 votes.

Fairfax County will begin the recount on Monday, Dec. 16. All other localities will begin their recount Tuesday, Dec. 17. The recount court is scheduled to convene December 19th, once the localities finish their recount.
