Kids Get Some Swimming In Before Summer Vacation Ends

Aug 19, 2014

It's the last day of summer vacation for students in Charlottesville and Albemarle County.

School starts back up Wednesday morning, and despite the clouds in the sky, a few boys were hoping to get the most out of their last day of freedom.

They jumped in the Washington Park pool, hoping to make the most out their break and explained what they were doing on the last day of summer vacation.

"I don't like school,” said Tyrus. “I wish there could be six months break and six weeks of school."

“School is really close to our house, Eli said. “So we like to come here a lot. It's the last day before, and the last weekday that the pool is going to be open so we wanted to come to the pool."

While only six weeks of school seems a little unrealistic, these kids are happy to start a brand new school year tomorrow.
