Kids to Volunteer at Charlottesville City Market

July 26, 2013

Shoppers at the Charlottesville City Market will be seeing some new helpers Saturday morning.

Rick Shaw Cartage Service, a new assistance service, kicks off tomorrow at the downtown market. Charlottesville City Council candidate Bob Fenwick and members of Kids Making A Change (Kids MAC) created the service.

The goal is to give kids the opportunity to help City Market shoppers out by carrying and loading up their bags for them.

The four kids volunteering will be in bright yellow shirts, ready to work and learn more about the community.

Fenwick says he will invite more kids to volunteer throughout the rest of the City Market season.
