Charlottesville Shopping Forecast: Last Weekend of Holiday Shopping

Whether it's the last minute gift for grandma, your husband or mom, it all comes down to this weekend.

Not many Charlottesville shoppers have time to sit around and wait for Christmas because there's too much to do, and it's the last weekend to make sure it all gets done.

"Usually I'm all shopped and wrapped by this time but this year, not so much. So, yes I am over the shopping. I just need to hurry up and get it done," said Greene County resident Susan Moore.

And sometimes when you think you're all done, that one thing will pop up on Christmas Eve but some people are willing to admit they haven't done one bit of their holiday shopping yet.

"I'm just beginning. We have to go to Wal-Mart and my other daughter I have to finish up some stuff for her and my son, I haven't gotten him anything yet," said Becky Sandridge, an Earlysville resident.

And though it may seem like there are more stressed-out shoppers in the parking lots, many are only looking for one or two small, thoughtful presents.

"There's no need to stress. Family is more what we do. And every year, the baby in the family, which would be me, makes breakfast for everyone, so that's special too," said Megan Hunt, a Greene County resident.

But one family said their tradition is actually going out last minute all together to shop and get it done all at the same time.
