Law Enforcement Agencies to Again Collect Unwanted Pills

Oct. 23, 2013

Local law enforcement agencies will again be offering the public a chance to safely dispose of unwanted prescription drugs.

Residents can drop off their expired or unused prescriptions between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, at the front lobby of either the Charlottesville or Albemarle County Police Department.

Officials say the rate of prescription drug abuse in the U.S. is alarmingly high, as are the number of accidental poisonings and overdoses due to these drugs.
