The Virginia General Assembly has passed a bill that will make it easier to fire bad teachers.
They approved a bill that changes the teacher evaluation process.
It requires annual evaluations and teachers can be fired after one bad appraisal. The bill also extends probation periods for teachers.
Some Democrats argued that the standards were too harsh, but the bill still passed with bipartisan support
Governor McDonnell is expected to sign the bill.
