The Albemarle County Board of Supervisors will discuss the future of public libraries during their meeting on Wednesday.
Albemarle County is part of the Jefferson Madison Regional Library system. Supervisors are considering dropping out of the regional system and using a county staff to operate libraries in Crozet, Scottsville, and Albemarle Square.
Wednesday's discussion is for information only. During a work session on February 9, the Board is scheduled to formally consider the findings of the analysis. Albemarle representatives of the JMRL Board, along with its director, have been invited to attend that work session.
