The phones were ringing off the hook and the orders were rushing in as I visited a local flower shop to see how they were managing the big day.
Local shop, Don's Florist and Gifts has been preparing all week for their flower deliveries.
" We have sold over ten thousand red roses and then we have another eleven hundred coming in today so this has been a real good year," says shop owner Don' Toney. "The most popular is red roses, white Lilly, candy, balloons, stuffed animals. It really is a mixture of everything."
One driver told us how many deliveries he had today.
Today I'll do at least one hundred and fifty if not more to Martha Jefferson, the University, State Farm." says Bill Toney
One woman from State Farm was surprised to get flowers delivered to her job today.
"Yes this is really a nice surprise," says Missy Mathias. "I have a very special spouse that is very thoughtful"
