Charlie Owen lives in Central Virginia and is a diehard Star Wars fan. He stumbled across never before seen outtakes from the original Star Wars Trilogy when he decided to treat himself to a 40th birthday present to add to his extensive Star Wars collection.

“It’s just amazing,” said Owen. “I found a holy grail. You can’t really put a value on anything like this.”

It all started when friends of the collector told him about a LaserDisc for sale on Ebay. The ad advertised 18 minutes of footage from Star Wars.

The LaserDisc had more on it than he had realized, 30 minutes worth of footage from Episode VI, much of it outtakes from the scene where Yoda and Luke Skywalker meet for the last time.

“So I thought, alright, it's 700 dollars, I'll buy it. We’ll see what happens,” said Owen. “It arrives. I put the disk in... 30 minutes. 30 minutes of footage never, ever seen before.”

Owen has no intentions of selling this one of a kind LaserDisc. He is just an avid collector. In fact, he's already turned down a 10,000 dollar offer.

“Save it. Just go in my collection with all of my other stuff,” said Owen. “I'll probably have to get a lock box for it now. I wouldn't sell it. I am a collector. I'm not in it to make any money.”

Owen hasn’t kept his find a secret. He has been sharing clips on a Facebook page he created on October 22, 2013 called “Return of the Jedi long lost Edit Droid Laserdisc Discovered”.

“All of a sudden people are going nuts for it,” said Owen. “Post more! Post more! Post more! I thought alright, I'll post a few clips here and there and see how it goes.”

In just one week, there are close to 28,000 fans looking for more video clips. Owen is also getting his time on the spotlight.
“A couple of days later I was on CNN, SkyNews, Fox, Yahoo, Mashable, Gizmodo. I thought, this is what going viral feels like,” said Owen.

The frenzy isn’t over yet. Owen still has clips to post and fans are waiting to see more clips of Yoda and Luke.
