The Rutherford Institute in Charlottesville announces that it will try to help the family of Edward Snowden as they confront the US government.
The institute says they will offer, "full and complete assistance," as the family battles accusations that Edward Snowden violated the Espionage Act by leaking classified National Security Agency (NSA) information.
Snowden's attorney, Bruce Fein, serves on the Board of Directors for the Rutherford Institute.
Fein will accompany Edward Snowden's father to Russia, where his son has been granted temporary asylum.
