Eleven students from the Tandem Friends School and the Music Resource Center in Charlottesville got a chance to create a radio show, broadcasted on WNRN Sunday morning.

The program is called the "30 Minute Throwdown" and featured music from students as well as popular songs on the radio.

The students created the show during a radio resource project. The lead coordinator for the show says it’s important for kids to get radio experience.

“It's great for kids to learn these skills, not just broadcast skills or programming skills, which is what they are doing in this particular program,” says Mary Burruss. “They are also learning to read copy, they are gaining self-confidence and they are learning how to put together an artistic program.”

The radio resource project creates a broadcast once a month and is open to students at Tandem and the MRC. To get more information and to listen to the show, click on the link below
