A Louisa County mother has pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter for fatally poisoning her 6-month-old son.

After a lengthy investigation, Louisa Co. investigators charged Tristan Goodwin in the death of her infant son, Tyler Firth.

Commonwealth's Attorney Rusty McGuire says emergency crews originally thought the boy's death was due to sudden infant death syndrome. An autopsy showed 4.8 milligrams per liter of Benadryl in the baby's system.

Goodwin will be sentenced at a later date in May.
