Madison Co. Fun Run to Help Cancer Research at UVa

August 23, 2013

A group of women are running mad tomorrow to support breast cancer research at the University of Virginia Medical Center.

The Madison 4 Miler Fun Run will be held on Saturday, August 24, at the Hebron Lutheran Church.

The run started as a practice run for the Charlottesville Women's 4 Miler, but is now an official satellite training program, with more than 80 women.

"We have a great group of women," says Cathy McGhee with the Madison 4 Miler. "We have women that have never exercised in their lives and then we have other women that do triathlons and just come out for the comradely, the friendships that they make over the summer."

The run starts at 7:30 AM at the Hebron Lutheran Church, located at 899 Blankenbaker Road Madison, VA.

Cost is $20 with all proceeds benefiting the UVa Breast Care Center.

Participants of the Madison W4MTP participate at no cost and the Mad Dash is a free event as well.
