Madison Co. School Bus Hits VDOT Truck

Three people injured in an accident in Madison County on Wednesday afternoon when a school bus slammed into the back of a VDOT truck.

The crash happened on Route 29 at the intersection with Fairgrounds Road.

State Police report a Madison Co. school bus hit the back of a VDOT truck that was stopped in the right lane.

There were 39 students on the bus; two were taken to University of Virginia Medical Center for injuries described as minor.

The VDOT worker was also hospitalized, and extensive damage was done to the crash cushion on the back of the truck.

The school bus driver, 42-year-old Edna Broyles has been charged with reckless driving.
