Maj. Gen. Greene Laid to Rest in Arlington National Cemetery

On Thursday, the highest-ranking U.S. Military officer to be killed in Afghanistan since 9-11 was laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery.

A burial service was held this afternoon for Major General Harold Greene of Falls Church, Virginia.

The two-star general was an engineer who worked his way up through the ranks in a 34-year Army career.

Greene was killed on August 5th when a gunman, believed to be an Afghan soldier, opened fire at a military academy near Kabul.

He is survived by his wife and two grown children, including a son who is a lieutenant in the U.S. Army.
