Man Charged with Orange Co. Child's Death Waives Preliminary Hearing

Billy Joe Lee, the man accused of shooting and killing a 10-year-old boy in Orange County, waived a preliminary hearing in court on Monday. A grand jury will start considering the case when it meets next on July 28th.

The man accused of shooting and killing a 10-year-old boy in Orange County waived a preliminary hearing in court on Monday.

Thirty-seven-year-old Billy Joe Lee is accused of killing George Allen "Bubbie" Toombs, the son of his ex-fiancé Tina Marie Toombs.

Lee is facing charges of felony child abuse and neglect, shooting in the commission of a felony, discharging a firearm within the home with the death of an individual, and child endangerment.

The incident happened back in April.

A grand jury will start considering the case when it meets next on July 28th.
