RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Authorities say a man died after he stole a Richmond police car and crashed it head first into the side of a vacant warehouse.
Police officials say an officer on Monday afternoon approached a wanted suspect, who then pulled a gun on the officer. As the officer took cover behind his cruiser, the suspect jumped into the vehicle and sped away before crashing into the closed loading bay of the building, causing a small fire.
Media outlets report that the suspected died at the scene. Police have not released the suspect's name or on what charges he was wanted.
The officer was not injured and the incident remains under investigation.
