Jonathan Woodard, 30, of Baltimore, Maryland is in violation of his parole on a Maryland armed robbery charge.
Woodard was in Albemarle Co. General District Court this morning to set a date for an extradition hearing, which would take him back to Maryland to serve time.
According to media outlets in Baltimore, Woodard is also wanted in the murder investigation of a triple-shooting from November 2012.
Woodard was arrested in Albemarle Co. on June 5th during a police chase with 31-year-old Shannon Burton from Waynesboro.
Burton was driving the black Ford Expedition when he stopped suddenly. When police pulled them over they discovered 5 children in the vehicle. Police also discovered that Woodard was in violation of his parole.
Both men were arrested and held in the Charlottesville-Albemarle Regional Jail.
The mother of the children in the vehicle spoke to us, but did not want to be on camera. She explained that she Woodard and Burton were on the way to her home when they were pulled over. She also told us that she did not know Woodard had any legal troubles in Maryland.
Woodard's extradition hearing is set for August 8th at 9 a.m.
