Suspect James Lewis Kardos
Dec. 17, 2013
A man who has pleaded guilty to crimes in both the City of Charlottesville and Fluvanna County has been sentenced in Charlottesville.
On Tuesday, James Lewis Kardos was sentenced to a total of 7 years on charges of kidnapping, malicious wounding and child abuse.
In September, Kardos plead guilty to two firearms charges and a charge of obstruction of justice in Fluvanna County.
Police say Kardos assaulted a woman in Charlottesville back in February, and then drove to his father's home in the Lake Monticello neighborhood. A 9-hour standoff with law enforcement followed, until police decided to storm the house and arrest Kardos.
He is facing additional jail time in Fluvanna County.
