One man is riding around the world again to spread a message about cancer. Saturday morning he stopped in Central Virginia.

Randolph Westphal, from Germany, has been riding around the world on his bike for over 25 years. He’s been around the globe five times in those years.

He started bay in the early 90’s after he was diagnosed with cancer. He went through several life-threatening surgeries. But through it all he continues to ride around the globe with his dogs spreading his message to never give up.

“I go forwards and not backwards and that's what I show people,” says Randolph Westphal. “Never give up, go forward. The only one who really can heal you is yourself that's why they call me a living legend.”

Westphal plans to ride through Charlottesville, Waynesboro, Harrisonburg and Richmond this week, stopping at Best Western hotels along the way.
