Health care providers are often looking after patients, but who's watching out for them? In this week's Martha Jefferson Healthwise CBS19's Stephanie Satchell has more on what the hospital is doing to try to help caregivers especially during the holidays.

From the doctors and nurses to the valet attendants working outside, Martha Jefferson Hospital is trying to make sure all of their caregivers are cared for.

“It's always important to us to take care of our caregivers here at the hospital. They work so hard and give so much of themselves that we really try to implement different programs throughout the year that can help take the pressure off of them,” said Katherine Boucher, Director of Food, Retail & Transportation, Martha Jefferson Hospital.

From a take home meal to a relaxing 15 minute chair massage, Martha Jefferson is offering a few services for their caregivers.

“Bedside nurses and techs really work hard. They're on their feet and they really give of themselves so we like to give back,” said Boucher.

During the holidays, they're trying to lighten their work load in their personal lives.

“Right now we're doing a gift wrapping station where employees can bring in their gifts for the holidays we wrap the presents for them just to help with that work life balance and take some time and stress off them for the holidays,” said Boucher.

Hospital officials say having these options can help workers reset and reboot along with reducing the stress which is important when they're caring for your loved ones.
