They say "five a day" but getting in all your fruits and vegetables can be difficult, especially for kids.
That's why Star Hill Health Center Partnered with Key Recreational Center to teach kids how to eat healthier.
Jackie Martin, Director of Star Hill Health Center, taught kids how to make a healthy skillet pizza.
"It's all about teaching them how to make something healthy that they can now go home and make with their parent's," she says.
The course is part of a four week program where kids are educated on healthy eating and empowered to make healthy choices.
Martin says children don't have a lot of power when it comes to what they eat so the more parents involve them in grocery shopping and cooking the more likely they will be to eat their vegetables.
Helping isn't just a way to get involved, it's also a great way to learn what goes into a nutritious meal, with the goal of curbing the rise in childhood obesity.
