Medical marijuana will soon be for sale in Washington DC.
A so-called wellness center is set to open sometime in May, just eight blocks from Capitol Hill.
The center will have several varieties of cannabis, rolling papers, and even marijuana brownies and cookies.
Federal law still bans the cultivation and sale of marijuana, which means this store is illegal in the DC area.
However, with 52 percent of Americans in favor of legalizing the drug, supporters say a safe and profitable business like this could help change the minds of lawmakers.
Medical marijuana is allowed in 18 states, plus Washington DC. In Colorado and Washington state, pot is available without a prescription, for recreational use.
