Some powerful motors sounded off at the sixth year of the Mid-Atlantic Power Festival in Greene county.
The Ruckersville event continued Friday night with a tractor pull, along with its daily carnival with rides, games, and food. The festival features motorsports and promotes breast cancer awareness.
The tractor pull is a family tradition for Jason Collier. Collier has been going to pulls since he was a kid. Now he's bringing his son, Caleb.
"A good friend of mine is pulling tonight," said Collier, who has attended the Mid-Atlantic Power Festival since it started. "It's a good time we can spend together. It's a lot of fun. Look forward to it every year."
Caleb looks forward to it, too.
"He loves tractors. He breathes and sleeps tractors," said Collier, Sr.
When asked if he wanted to ride a tractor, Caleb replied quickly.
"I wish," he said.
"He wishes," agreed his dad.
The power festival continues Saturday with a demolition derby, auto cross, and music. Kids under 5 get in for free.
For a front row seat, feel free to bring lawn chairs.
