The Mike London Women's Football camp took place at UVa Friday night.
A couple hundred local women came out to the George Welsh Indoor Practice Facility for the annual camp.
The UVa football team's coaches and players were there. They talked about the X's and O's of football and ran drills on blocking, tackling, catching, throwing and kicking. At the end of the evening, prizes were raffled off.
"I think it's a great opportunity for women to come and just be connected and support our football team and, again, do something different and exciting and fun," said camper Andrea Copeland.
"It's a chance for moms, girlfriends, to have a chance to come out and learn football, make it fun. A lot of em ask questions that will get answered and not feel intimidated by the answers but also just to have fun," said UVa football head coach Mike London.
London said the camp has now grown to have women from Richmond, Roanoke, New Jersey, and Philadelphia.
"I would encourage any lady, any woman who's interested in learning more about football, learning more about our UVa football team and supporting them, do it next year!" said Copeland. "This is a great event and I'm just, I'm just glad to be here."
