More than a month ago, Robert Hourihan left his Fluvanna County home, saying he was heading to his job in Richmond. He never go there and he has not been seen since.
A thick binder with leads, tips and clues contains all the information investigators have as they continue their search.
"It's almost as if he fell off the planet after that morning getting his biscuit at E.W. Thomas," said Lt. David Wells, of the Fluvanna County Sheriff's Department.
Hourihan was last seen on Friday, April 8. Investigators have been able to pinpoint parts of his journey that morning. They say he left his home in the Columbia area of the county at 6:30am. His white 2004 Chevy Cavalier with Virginia license plate "TARAMAE" was not seen again until 7:45am on Route 53.
"We have that hour and a half time frame gap in the morning where I still can't pinpoint his actions. Did he go meet somebody? Obviously if he works in Richmond, this part of the county is not his normal route," Lt. Wells explained.
Hourihan was last seen around 8am at E.W. Thomas Grocery Store in Palmyra. A familiar stop.
"He used to work at that store, so several of the clerks know him. They interacted with him, so I'm confident that is a credible time frame. Where he went after that is the big mystery," said Lt. Wells.
Other parts of the mystery remain unsolved. Hourihan's car is still missing, as is his cell phone. Other online tracking devices have been quiet since 8am on April 8.
"That's the way we typically use to track or find somebody. We've just had no luck whatsoever."
Hourihan suffers from a heart condition and takes medication for the condition. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call at 434-589-8211.
The Sheriff's Office also wants to remind the public that a reward of up to $5,000 is available for information about Hourihan's disappearance.

We have hired a private investigator and it is very costly. We have info received from the investigator but am sorry we can't release anything at this time. We can tell you we are a tight knit family. Rob was brought up with good values and morals. His wife and child is his life and adultry is out of the question. Anyone who knows him can confirm this. We do want to thank everyone for their concerns and prayers. The investigator is working very hard to help us bring closure but we could use some help. We know times are very hard and are not asking people to send money they can't afford to give. Jesus seen an elderly woman put her last penny in the collection basket. We are not asking people on a fixed income to donate to this cause but if there are poeople out there reading this that can afford to give to this cause then it would deeply be appreciated. upon closure any money left over will be donated to other causes. Please send what you can afford to Melinda Hourihan P.O.Box 113 Fork Union,Va.23055. Thank you again for all the prayers.
