The snow did not stop hundreds of music students from showing off their skills Saturday at an annual music festival.
Nearly 300 students participated in the event at the First Presbyterian Church.
The Charlottesville Music Teachers Association Festival gives local music students of all ages and ability levels the opportunity to share their music with an audience.
The festival features students of piano, organ, strings, harp, and guitar.
Each student receives ratings and feedback from qualified judges.
"Students will carry this music ability into their age and even when they're 90 and 100 they'll still be doing this music. It's a worthwhile effort for them and a worthwhile activity for them. They really put out extra time for doing this," says Barbara Taylor Moore, Festival Chair, CMTA
In addition to certificates of participation. Students earn medals for every 3 years of participation.
