The National Physics Day Show helped kids learn and get excited about about science.

Professors and students from the UVa Physics Department put on the free event for the 19th year.

This year's theme was energy. Kids and adults saw balloons float and sink when filled with and placed in different gases, a girl pull herself up in a chair, rockets, and explosions.

"We like it, it's fun. I mean, it's great fun to do this kind of stuff, but mostly it's for the kids. We want to entertain and educate the kids, get people interested in science. Those are our future physics majors out there," said Cass Sackett, UVa Physics Professor.

Sackett added he thinks UVa's is the longest running National Physics Day show in the country.
