MCDONNELL TRIAL DAY 4:
Star Scientific CEO Jonnie Williams testified in court Thursday. He said he gave former Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell and his wife Maureen gifts in order to gain backing for Star Scientific product studies at U.Va. and V.C.U.
DOG FIGHTING IN FLUVANNA:
The case against Brenton Mathis, the man accused of dog fighting in Fluvanna County is being pushed back. He is going to trial for a host of animal cruelty and dog fighting charges and will be in court later in August.
Health officials at the Blue Ridge Poison Center say there has been an increase in children getting into liquid nicotine. They say it doesn’t take much for the nicotine to get absorbed into a child's skin. And the effects can be deadly.
New details released about the arrest of Joby Easton McCauley. She is facing four charges for embezzling from the construction company she use to work for. Court documents show she took at least $400,000 over several years. She will be in court at the end of August.
STEM FUTURE FOR ALBEMARLE SCHOOLS:
Albemarle County schools are looking towards the future thanks to a grant from the Secretary of Education. The $20,000 grant will help educators understand what they need to include in classes to best prepare students for the future.
