UNDERSTANDING SUICIDE AND DEPRESSION:
The death of Robin Williams brings the issue of suicide back into the spotlight. About 400,000 Virginians suffer from depression, which is the leading cause of suicide. STOLEN CLOCK REPLACED:
The Virginia Clock Shop has replaced the clock that was stolen from in front of the store. The new clock is price-tagged at around $300--the old clock was about $2,000. Charlottesville police have still made no arrests in connection with the theft.
CHARLOTTESVILLE PARKING CENTER SOLD:
The Charlottesville Parking Center is changing hands to businessman Mark Brown for a $13.8 million. But despite new ownership, the prices for parking spots will stay the same and current employees will keep their jobs.
FEDERAL CORRUPTION TRIAL CONTINUES:
The federal corruption trial against Virginia's former governor continues in Richmond. A researcher from the VCU Medical Center says after a meeting with former Star Scientific CEO Jonnie Williams, he was introduced to Steven Speilburg at the governor's mansion. A juror was also dismissed Tuesday but no explanation was given.
SMALL FIRE AT UVA:
It appears a laptop-battery may have caught fire at U.Va.'s Clark Hall. Police were called to the scene after smoke was seen coming from the building. But the University tweeted out around 4:15 PM Tuesday giving the all clear.
