MCDONNELL CORRUPTION TRIAL:
The public corruption case against former Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell and his wife, Maureen, is in the hands of a Federal Jury. But after five hours of deliberation, there is no verdict. The jury will continue deliberations Wednesday.
DOMINION POWER PIPELINE:
Dominion Power is moving forward with plans to build a natural gas pipeline that would cut through Nelson County. But the $5 billion proposal has been met with criticism from residents who are concerned about the impacts of the pipeline.
FATAL ACCIDENT IN NORTH GARDEN:
Albemarle County Police are investigating a fatal accident Tuesday. It happened at the intersection of Route 29 and Plank Road when a white, work truck T-boned a black pick-up truck. One person was killed, but no word on the other people involved in the crash.
FATAL HIT AND RUN IN CROZET:
21-year-old Joseph Wade Payne was sentenced to 15 months in prison Tuesday. He was one of two drivers involved in a fatal hit and run that killed 71-year-old Carroll Donald Herring last year in Crozet. Police are still searching for the second driver.
ACADEMY AWARD WINNER VISITING CHARLOTTESVILLE:
Actor Kevin Spacey will participate in the second annual U.Va. President's Speaker Series of the Arts. The “House of Cards” star will speak at John Paul Jones Arena. Tickets are free, and will be available starting Wednesday.
