FATAL CAR ACCIDENT ON I-64:
One person died Wednesday morning, in a crash involving two tractor-trailers and 3 cars on a portion of I-64 in Albemarle County. Four other people were taken to the U.Va. Medical Center with serious injuries. Westbound I-64 was closed for several hours during clean-up.

MCDONNELL TRIAL DAY 8:
Former Chief of Staff for Maureen McDonnell testified Wednesday in the corruption trial of former Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell. She says she never saw any hint of a romantic relationship between Maureen and Star Scientific CEO Jonnie Williams.

ROUTE 29 INTERCHANGE:
Secretary of Transportation Aubrey Layne was optimistic Wednesday in a meeting with the Board of Supervisors over the Route 29 interchange. Secretary Layne says it’s going to take several small projects to easy traffic on Route 29.

AMBER ALERT UPDATE:
Good news following an Amber Alert issued Tuesday evening. Three-year-old Tommy Engle was found safe and sound earlier Wednesday. Investigators say they used text messages to track down his father in Pikeville, Kentucky. The father is now in custody.

UBER AND LYFT ALLOWED IN VIRGINIA:
The car hire service Uber and Lyft will be allowed to operate in Virginia. Governor Terry McAuliffe and Attorney General Mark Herring made the announcement Wednesday. Now the two companies must meet extensive regulations in order to remain operational.
