New Committee to Advise on Improvements for Southern Albemarle

May 3, 2013

A new Albemarle County committee is dedicated to enhancing services in the southern part of the county, and sustaining the role of Yancey Elementary School.

The new eleven-member citizens' advisory committee will review the current services in the area and suggest improvement or additions.

They will also explore the use of Yancey as both a school and possible source of providing some services.

The committee will hold an organizational meeting at Yancey Elementary on May 13. They will provide a progress report in three months, and deliver a final report to the Board of Supervisors and School Board by the end of the year.
