The Chalottesville Police Officer injured during a police chase has been released from the hospital.
The suspect, 25 year-old Marcell Turner, was originally wanted on 5 charges, some of which are drug-related.
Tuner is now facing 12 felony charges, including malicious wounding of a police officer, after a chase that started by car and ended on foot.
Around 3:00 PM on Wednesday, police tried to pull over Turner on 5th Street.
Turner led officers to Meridian Street, where he hit two police cruisers, injuring one officer.
Witnesses say, Turner jumped out of his car while it was still moving, and ran behind two apartment homes.
Neighbors say, this isn't the first time they've seen police on their street.
"Everybody is pretty concerned about what was going on," said Alan Addington, who witnessed the chase. "This used to be a really nice neighborhood when I moved here 24 years ago. It's really gone down the tubes since then."
Police found Turner in the basement of an apartment, arresting him without any further incident.
Turner is behind bars, with a court hearing set in May.
