UVa has a new way of detecting and monitoring Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in children.

The Children's Learning Clinic at the Curry School of Education are offering brand new services of children, including a wristwatch-like device, called an Actograph, which reads a child's activity and is able to help detect and monitor ADHD.

Michael Kofler, the director of the Children's Learning Clinic, says the most research focuses on the negative aspects of ADHD, and that the clinic aims to bring a more positive light.

"We're asking, through this research and through our clinic work, how can we identify strengths and unlock capabilities in children with ADHD." says Kofler. "To not just focus on their deficits but move them from having difficulties to thriving."

The Clinic is currently open for children ages 8 to 12.
