Charlottesville city officials held a dedication ceremony Friday at Azalea Park, revealing a brand-new water fountain made so both people and their pets can grab a drink.
The fountain is a gift to the city from the Charlottesville Lions Club to commemorate the city's 250th anniversary.
"We're all dog lovers," says Lion member Scott Brown. "We're all animals lovers and we all own dogs so it just seems like a fitting thing to do."
Club members say its focus on man's best friend makes it an ideal contribution to Charlottesville.
Mayor Satyendra Huja was on hand to accept the offer and take part in the ribbon cutting.
