New Information Detailed in Court About Murder at Charlottesville Restaurant

August 7, 2014

In May, Antonio Washington was killed in a fight at the Alhamraa Restaurant at the IX building in Charlottesville. New details were detailed in court Thursday on the events of that night.

Police say there were two different events that happened that night. First, Antwan Roberts got into a fight with Antonio Washington at the Alhamraa restaurant.

During that fight, police say Taneak Turner stabbed Washington who died from his injuries.

In addition to the stabbing, police say there was a shooting in the parking lot in front of the restaurant. They say, Taneak Turner fired those shots into a car, but no one was hurt.

Antonio Washington's mother was in court along with other family members, they listened on as a handful of witnesses detailed a string of events that led up to Washington's murder.

Antwan Roberts is now facing a charge of accessory after the fact in a murder. His charges were reduced Thursday in court.

A grand jury will hear evidence against him soon.

Taneak Turner, who is facing a first degree murder charge appeared Thursday in court via video - but that case was continued.
