Construction is underway at Buford Middle School for a nearly half mile sidewalk.

The walkway will improve student safety, as well as bicycle and pedestrian access to Smith Aquatic And Fitness Center and The Boys And Girls Club.

It's expected to cost around $350 thousand, which will be covered by the Federal Safe Routes To School program.
