The grades are in, and the City of Charlottesville is rolling out its performance scorecard.
The unveiling of the "Charlottesville Measures Up" website took place at CitySpace on Wednesday.
It's a comprehensive performance scorecard showing how the city's departments compare to other localities and national averages. For example, Charlottesville is well below the national average for fire fatalities. However, there are still other areas and departments that could be improved.
Director of Budget and Performance Management Leslie Beauregard said, "All of this is going to be an ongoing process as part of the decision-making, eventually tied to how we allocate resources to different areas to make sure we're addressing the areas that need help."
City staff is working on data that will show how well Charlottesville is progressing in meeting its vision. Those results should be out in the next few months.
