ROANOKE, Va. (AP) - Roanoke's prosecutor says charges won't be pursued against the drivers involved in two separate fatal pedestrian accidents.

Commonwealth's Attorney Donald Caldwell tells The Roanoke Times that both accidents occurred at night during bad weather. He says each driver stopped, assisted and remained at the scene.

A vehicle struck and killed 63-year-old Ruth Mary Keniston on Nov. 15, 2013, as she was crossing a road to catch a bus.

Sixty-seven-year-old Gerald Schertz was hit by a vehicle as he walked to his office on Nov. 26, 2013. He died three days later.

Meanwhile, police are continuing to search for the driver of a pickup truck that struck and killed Christine Willis Turner on Oct. 29, 2013. The truck fled the scene.
