There will be no criminal charges filed in the stabbing of Virginia State Senator Creigh Deeds.
On Thursday, Bath County Commonwealth's Attorney John Singleton announced his decision.
Sen. Deed's son, Austin "Gus" Deeds, stabbed his father last November at their home in Bath Co.
Austin Deeds later committed suicide.
The younger Deeds had been released from the Rockbridge Area Community Services the day before the incident.
A Virginia State Police spokesperson says the investigation included the actions of employees at the mental health facility.
