The United Way: Thomas Jefferson Area is celebrating 70-years in Charlottesville.
The United Way in our area started with raising funds for World War II efforts, and has since included assisting the community.
Thanks to the help of dozens of volunteers over the years, the organization is always changing.
The biggest event of the year for the organization is the Annual United Way Day of Caring, which takes place every September in Charlottesville.
