NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - Norfolk will participate in the Rockefeller Foundation's 100 Resilient Cities Network.

Norfolk is among the first 33 cities worldwide selected for the project. The foundation says on its website that the goal is to help 100 cities address the stresses of the 21st century.

Norfolk spokeswoman Lori Crouch tells The Virginian-Pilot that the foundation will fund a chief resilience officer position for the city. This person will oversee the development of a resilience plan for Norfolk.
