President Barack Obama's re-election campaign is preparing to open its Virginia headquarters.
The Richmond Times-Dispatch says the campaign plans to open the headquarters in downtown Richmond on Saturday. A field office in Petersburg will open the following weekend.
There also are field offices in Fairfax and Newport News.
In 2008, Obama became the first Democrat seeking the White House to win Virginia since Lyndon Johnson in 1964.
